Printable Agenda MSDN Dev Con, Orlando, Dec 11
I wanted a printable version of the agenda, but the website didn’t provide one and pasting into Word '07 didn’t work so I pasted it into Excel, massaged it, copied to Google Docs and published a copy.

Entertainment PC
So I bought a new HP "Entertainment PC" for which I purchased a new 42 Philips LCD and upgraded to a HD DVR Cable box. And man what a mess!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I got started by plugging in my PC to the TV via the HDMI connection, awesome... they finally did... one cable I'm thinking. Of course no audio I notice right of the bat, but that's not my first priority, media center and the remote are.
I fired Media Center up, try to configure the TV and get an error message "IR Hardware Not Detected" or something like that. It looks like a harware problem to me... the program responds to quickly for it to be the repeater plus I think the IR out is an IR OUT! (Every HP tech keeps asking about the stupid repeater)
I'll continue later... preview: 6 Hrs with HP between phone and chatting... Philips support call... Brighthouse support call... replacement PC... and still not working.

Remote Desktop Windows Issue/Bug
If I remote from my widescreen Windows Vista laptop to my Windows XP work machine the windows are incorrectly drawing themselves. The windows (I guess OS) are maximized if the start menu is being hidden. But if I use my non-widescreen Windows XP laptop everything works just fine.
(I know I should find a Microsoft forum and post it but that's too much work right now.)

What Just Happened Feature
We need a "What Just Happened" features where the OS will replay in simulated or via text what the user just did.
Why this is needed:
- True End Users often do not understand how they did what this just told the computer to do. Example might be asking a user to right click, often while they're right clicking they move the mouse at the same time and the OS does something different which is probably a needed feature but the user is clueless as to why this is happening.

Common Payment Interface
I think there's the need to create a common interface for processing credit card transactions on websites and possible other places. It would probably have to be some type of service where a company provides one way to communicate with Visa, Amex, etc., Google, "Next Whatever", etc.
I was just on ShoeBuy.com and that have a very wide selection for payment options and it got me thinking that every website selling something has this same common problem, so every site should do the same work and code of all various formats.
I'm not a web guy and I'm sure there's some of this already going on but probably not to the fully integrated vision I have.
